[AH] Central and South Arabia, 1990

AH means Alternate History.

With more powerful Ottoman Empire the Britains led by Thomas Lawrence fail to liberate Arabia in 1916. The Arabs manage to revolt only in 1919, when the independent realms were found in South Hejaz and Asir. Shareef of Mecca unites these states in 1923 and proclaims himself a sultan. Simultaneously, the Rashidi dynasty in Najd starts its long struggle for the unification of Central Arabia.

The British protectorates of Aden and Trucial Oman gain autonomy only in the second half of the XXth century and form their own states. Though all the boundaries (except for ones in the Rub Al Khali desert) are de facto established, the Sultanate of Hejaz and Asir claims South Yemen and the northern part of Hejaz region. Despite that, the situation is relatively stable.
